The environmental youth organization Go Green, together with the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning are organizing the “European Week for Waste Reduction” that takes place from 20.11.2017 to 26.11.2017.

The European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) is an initiative aiming to promote a dialogue and awareness-raising actions about sustainable resource and waste management and it encourages a wide range of audiences (public authorities, private companies, civil society) to initiate and get involved in the program.

The outlook of the EWWR program in Macedonia is the following:


20.11.2017– Public debate: Do we select our waste at home?

Location: EU Info Centre, Skopje

The program for the whole week will be announced at the official opening of the EWWR. EU initiatives and initiatives in Macedonia in the waste sector will be promoted and the research results of "The household waste selection in City of Skopje, with focus on used cooked oil" will be presented and discussed.

25.11.2017 – NO Plastic Bags

Location: Green Bazaar, Skopje

The goal of this action to raise awareness among the citizens for waste reduction and to stimulate usage of paperand textile bags.

02.12.2017 – Let’s do it! - Waste Clean Up action

Location: National Park Mavrovo

In cooperation with the Ski Center Mavrovo we organize a Clean Up action on specific locations in the National Park Mavrovo. Ongoing waste mapping action currently occurs among the citizens of Mavrovo and Rostuse. More details regarding the participation, agenda and transport will follow soon.
